Saskatchewan River, Hazel & David Thompson

DAY FOUR

6/6/2021

.Our travels continue down the river. The weather is pretty varied and a little unpredictable. I guess this is fairly normal for June. When it got pretty hectic I pulled over near the Drayton Valley bridge and once things improved I was able to continue on my way and finally pulled over to set up camp near Berrymore. This is an area I know as at one time there was a small car ferry here to cross the river. When we lived at Seba Beach we used this ferry a few times and it was sad to see it close when they built the bridge across. It was one of the few still around in Alberta in the Eighties along with one near Drumheller. To find where I camped tap the Spot Logo and see where I have gone so far.

I thought of you to-day as I was dodging sheets of rain in the garden here in Jasper and hoped it might be nicer down in the Prairies. Hopefully you are able to enjoy that lovely June dawn chorus of birdsong in the mornings.

I saw you on global news this evening and thought today’s the first day we had a full day of sunshine since you left for your travels on the river. Our daughter was over today with
her 7 month old and we’re so lucky to be grandparents. All the best as you travel the river!
